Remembering Together Aberdeenshire is coming to a close
A new walking route ‘From Mountain to Sea’ has been created in collaboration with the community. A map of the route in the folded style of an OS map has been produced to promote the route which also contains lead artist’s diary entries, images with extracts of community conversations, a list of what to pack if one wants to walk the whole route and handwritten scores of the tunes composed by Paul Anderson. A family of bespoke benches has been installed in different locations among the route, each with its own unique design and placement in the landscape. Enamel outdoor mugs were produced featuring a new Mountain to Sea logo, used to toast with people en route and offered as gifts in return for local hospitality. A small batch of badges with the logo were also produced and given to every walker that joined the final walk in summer 2024. As the projects completes in November 2024, a self-led walking and photography online activity called 'Boots and Benches' will encourage future use of the benches and album and continue the project’s legacy.
