June community events continue…
On Friday 14th June, the Remembering Together D&G artists alongside Primary 5 students from Sanquhar Primary unveiled a new memorial and artwork in Bell Crescent Park to mark the impact of the Covid pandemic on individuals and communities across the region. The memorial is part of a region-wide project, The Dispersed Memorial Forest, which saw 400 native species trees planted over 5 locations in Dumfries and Galloway, including Dumfries, Castle Douglas, Moffat, Stranraer, and in Sanquhar at Bells Crescent Park. The 400 trees planted across D&G represent those lost to Covid in the region, with additional trees planted to represent other types of losses, and the way that communities grew together.

Further events are Moffat (20 June 6-8pm), Castle Douglas, Threave (27 June 6-8pm) and Galloway Community Hospital Gala Day, Stranraer (29 June 11am - 3pm).
