Remembering Together Fife is coming to a close

The conclusion of the Remembering Together Fife project will be marked with the production of 500 replicated artworks, named ‘PROCESS’.

PROCESS is a bespoke handmade artwork comprising several components, all contained within a working camera obscura. Each element layered within PROCESS has been carefully crafted using sustainable materials to echo the broad range of community engagements undertaken across Fife during the last two years. PROCESS has the specific purpose of encouraging reflection, supporting wellbeing, building new connections & creating a positive legacy.

All 500 copies of PROCESS will be gifted to community groups and various civic institutions such as schools, libraries, colleges across Fife for the public to access. In addition, a free online version will also be available to access on both the Artist’s website and the national Remembering Together archive.

Each copy of PROCESS comprises of:

  • A Camera Obscura, as a gentle nod to when our worlds were upturned

  • Materials needed to create botanical inks and photographic emulsions at home

  • Paint-your-own postcards to encourage creativity and connections with others

  • Two handbound books, INLOOK & OUTLOOK, annotating Fife’s response to this project, alongside sharing recipes and ‘how-to’ guides for creative processes, to promote physical and mental wellbeing

  • A poster marking the Botanical Inks we created with plants foraged from Fife’s landscapes

  • A poster celebrating Fife’s floriography, annotating the language and symbolism associated with plants we discovered when retracing walks from lockdown

  • 8 varieties of organic wildflower seed
