Orkney Phase 2: Louise Barrington
In the Orkney Islands, Remembering Together projects have been commissioned in five communities: Flotta, Shapinsay, East Mainland, North Ronaldsay and Sanday.
Meet Louise Barrington, one of two artists working in Shapinsay and East Mainland
Louise is a multidisciplinary artist. Her work uses film, dance, textiles, and sculpture to focus on the aesthetic and environmental aspects of the landscape experienced over the four seasons. She studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins, Sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art, and a PgDip Island Studies at the Institute of Northern Studies. Louise currently works part-time at UHI Orkney.
