Remembering Together West Lothian is coming to a close

The Ribbon is a symbol of remembrance, reflection and hope, located at Almondvale Park in Livingston. It is constructed of galvanised steel painted with light terracotta-colour finish, adorned with impressions of plants and flowers that symbolise those who passed away as a result of the Covid pandemic. The nearby feature wave wall surrounding the Ribbon is made from dressed stone  from the original Polkemmet house built in 1620.

The Ribbon, designer’s impression

Scottish art and design studio Bespoke Atelier worked extensively with West Lothian groups and communities to generate ideas which reflect the renewed sense of appreciation for outdoor spaces and community togetherness felt by local residents following the pandemic.
